Partnership Opportunities
Willowtree Marina lies at the heart
of 45 lock-free kilometres in West London. From here the bustling
excitement of Camden Town
or the tranquillity of rural Middlesex and Buckinghamshire
can be reached without ever having to negotiate a lock. Unlike
the
Thames, this stretch of London's Canals is largely unaffected
by flood waters. In addition, road dual carriageways come almost
to
the main gate and connect with the A40/M40, M4 and M25 motorways,
encompassing nearly five million people who live within a
ten mile radius.

Start up support given would include help in business plan preparation,
marketing strategy, help in addressing training requirements to
be provided by Business Link London, identification of available
grants and an introduction to financial support. Various numbers
of business possibilities have been identified and we are talking
to partners about some of these. The projects include:
- Multipurpose cruising venue and floating classroom
- Canal-based professional clown company
- Hotel boat fleet
- Hire boat fleet
- Canal-based cycle tours
- Canal-based mobile boat mechanic service
- Small boat haulage service
- Booking agency
Many possibilities exist for developing these and other projects
- much of course will depend on the particular direction
and concept of each interested party. |
